TableTalk Staff App

1. Overview

TableTalk Staff by DeliPal is a mobile app designed for restaurant staff to receive instant guest feedback in real time.

It allows waiters, floor managers, and owners to view ratings and comments as they are submitted, helping teams resolve issues immediately while guests are still at the table. This ensures better service recovery and improved guest experience.

2. Navigation

2.1. App Installation

To install the mobile app, open Google Play on your Android device and search for TableTalk Staff by DeliPal. Tap Install and wait for the installation to complete. Once installed, open the app.

2.2. App Permissions

When opening the app for the first time, the user will be prompted to allow notifications with the message:
“Allow TableTalk to send you notifications?”
This permission must be allowed in order to receive real-time guest feedback alerts.

When tapping Scan code for the first time, another permission request will appear:
“Allow TableTalk to take pictures and record video?”
Select While using the app or Only this time to allow the app to scan QR codes.

2.3. Connecting the App to a Device

From the main menu, tap the Scan code button to connect the mobile app to a device.

To generate the QR code:

  • In the TableTalk system, go to Devices

  • Select the desired device

  • Open the Security section

  • Scan the QR code displayed on the screen using the mobile app

In the Security section, there is an option called Use PIN, which determines how staff members log in:

  • Use PIN enabled
Staff members will be required to enter their personal Mobile App PIN when logging in.

  • Use PIN disabled
After scanning the QR code, staff members can select their user from a list without entering a PIN.

2.4. Logging in

After the QR code is successfully scanned, a message will appear at the bottom of the screen:
“LOG IN TO device name

Below this message, tap Select cashier.

Depending on the device configuration:

  • If Use PIN is disabled, a Choose User window will appear. Select the desired user (e.g. Waiter 1, Waiter 2).

  • If Use PIN is enabled, a screen will appear asking “Please enter your PIN”

Enter the Mobile App PIN associated with the selected user. This PIN is visible and editable in the Team section when selecting the waiter.

Once completed, the user is logged into the application.

2.5. App Interface

At the top of the screen, the following buttons are available:

  • Log out button – tapping it opens a confirmation dialog (Yes / No)

  • Three feedback category buttons:

    • Meh...

    • Nice

    • Love it!
Tapping any category displays only the reviews of that type

In the top-right corner, there is a dropdown menu with two options:

  • New – displays only new, unseen reviews

  • Old – displays previously viewed reviews

When a new review is received, a numeric indicator (e.g. 1) appears on the corresponding feedback category.

To remove this indicator, the review must be opened and viewed.

2.6. Feedback

Feedback entries are displayed as individual cards. Each card shows:

  • Guest name

  • Phone number (if provided)

  • Feedback type (Meh…, Nice, Love it!)

  • Written comment

  • Time the feedback was submitted (bottom-right)

  • Assigned waiter and card number (bottom-left)

New (unseen) reviews are displayed with a white background, while old reviews appear greyed out.

When tapping on a feedback card, a Details window opens. This view displays the same information as the card, with the addition of the full date next to the time. Tap the X icon to close the Details view.
